  The 2006 and 2007 Toyota 4Runner

Welcome to the 2006 and 2007 Toyota 4Runner page.

The Toyota 4Runner is an SUV manufactured by Toyota, sold mainly in the United States, Canada and Mexico and built from 1984 to the present. The original 4Runner was little more than a Toyota pickup truck with a fiberglass shell over the bed, but the model has since undergone significant independent development into a mid-size SUV. All 4Runners have been built at Toyota's plant in Tahara, Japan as well at Toyota's Hino plant.

Available trims are the SR5, Sport Edition, and the Limited. An all-new 4.0 L V6 is standard in the current 4Runner, but for the first time, a V8 became available for the fourth generation models. The same 4.7 L V8 found in the Land Cruiser, Tundra, and Sequoia is now an available option for the fourth generation.

Only the 2003 SR5 and Sport Edition models had a gray plastic molding on the bottom of the vehicles' bodies, separate from the color of the vehicle. Since 2004, all trims now have a one-color body, with matching bumpers and spoiler. A facelift became incorporated in the 2006 models, which removed the rear bumper reflectors, and moved the front turn signal lights into the headlights as oppose to on the bumper in the previous models. The new facelift also made way for circular fog lights in the front bumper, as opposed to sharing the same housing as the turn signals in the 2003-2005 models. The grille for the 2006 model also appears to be slightly larger.
